I was hoping I could lay out my specific situation regarding growing limitations and have some input and how you would approach a similar situation. Here is my current set up:
I'm limited to growing in 2x2x4 grow tent.
I have an ~150 watt led light.
Though I am limited in space, I have a wide variety of seed types to choose from: regular, feminized and autos.
I'm wondering how I should approach my first grow? I feel like I should go with a feminzed, since I'll only have to attempt sprouting one at a time. From this mother, would you just stick this one plant and flip into flower following ~4-6 weeks from sprouting. I guess my primary concern with this approach would be vertical height as I need to keep the height around 3 foot max. After seeing OP's Sea of Green outdoors and how well he managed the height of them, I'm thinking I should do something similar. I'm guessing the height is controlled by taking clones and flipping them into flower relatively quickly so you limit to the time they have to stretch? With this method I imagine I could comfortably fit 4 1-gallon buckets. I could also use fewer plants in a larger bucket and fill out the canopy through SCROG. Is there any significant differences to either approach? Is one preferential to the other?
Hey man, good to hear from you. I'm very sorry to hear about your dog though. As for spiders, I'm no expert, but I would imagine both Black Widows and Brown Recluses would live just find in the Florida climate.
Unfortunately, our weather here in the midwest has been much colder and wetter than usual, so I've been postponing sprouting the seeds. It doesn't help that my family plans on moving very soon, so planning things right now is difficult.
Once I sprout them, I'll be sure to maintain a grow journal here on the forum.
Hey my man did your seeds pop yet?

Sorry about not getting back right away! I read your post yesterday and found it very helpful.
I had planned on visiting my garden store today to grab some soil and amendments - maybe look at fans, filters and lighting - but my energy faded in the afternoon and I ended up napping. After spending the night thinking on it, my new plan is to sprout the medicine along side some companion plants. I don't need 100% stealth, but I figure I can grow the moms outside with little worry if they are mixed in with some other more eye catching plants. Looking at varieties of Butterfly Plants as they seem to grow well in our climate, are suitably sized and attractive.
I'll probably visit this particular indoor gardening store today because I would like to just check them out if nothing else. I might hold off on picking anything up until this weekend when i'll visit both the larger garden center and the hardware store.
@chasenakes you out there bro?
On the size of mine man....i really had them in vegetation for like a month.....then flip!
The thing that keeps them shorter is my lighting ok...they work good at keeping them from,
to much of a stretch and thats another good thing i like about these tiny bulbs!!
My room temps never get above 80 in mid summer too...heat is my main issue, down here..
On them Auto's...i have seen them come very far in a decade man,,good stackers!
Oh what types were they brother?.......Op
Hello brother a first grow is truly cool and a gratifying adventure!
Getting something from your work is always a good thing right i can help with it all.....
Thanks for posting up a new thread first off,,and well from what you have said so far,
id say your gonna be ok even though most plants can get 3 to 4 feet if given room/time?
You can use small pots to restrict growth and branching and you are right, you can also do big pots.
Height and heat are always concerns' think with the one 150 watt LED your heat will be ok!
You can pinch tops to keep them short....maybe 1 time after 3 weeks from sprout, then another,
as they show sex...
On the Feminized plants at least you can bet on all girls just watch for hermaphrodite sex traits.
Probably go with those at first just because your not wasting space for males, unless you need seed?
;)
Take a pic of the tent and light set up.......and good luck on the first man!
