I was hoping I could lay out my specific situation regarding growing limitations and have some input and how you would approach a similar situation. Here is my current set up:
I'm limited to growing in 2x2x4 grow tent.
I have an ~150 watt led light.
Though I am limited in space, I have a wide variety of seed types to choose from: regular, feminized and autos.
I'm wondering how I should approach my first grow? I feel like I should go with a feminzed, since I'll only have to attempt sprouting one at a time. From this mother, would you just stick this one plant and flip into flower following ~4-6 weeks from sprouting. I guess my primary concern with this approach would be vertical height as I need to keep the height around 3 foot max. After seeing OP's Sea of Green outdoors and how well he managed the height of them, I'm thinking I should do something similar. I'm guessing the height is controlled by taking clones and flipping them into flower relatively quickly so you limit to the time they have to stretch? With this method I imagine I could comfortably fit 4 1-gallon buckets. I could also use fewer plants in a larger bucket and fill out the canopy through SCROG. Is there any significant differences to either approach? Is one preferential to the other?
Sorry about not getting back right away! I read your post yesterday and found it very helpful.
I had planned on visiting my garden store today to grab some soil and amendments - maybe look at fans, filters and lighting - but my energy faded in the afternoon and I ended up napping. After spending the night thinking on it, my new plan is to sprout the medicine along side some companion plants. I don't need 100% stealth, but I figure I can grow the moms outside with little worry if they are mixed in with some other more eye catching plants. Looking at varieties of Butterfly Plants as they seem to grow well in our climate, are suitably sized and attractive.
I'll probably visit this particular indoor gardening store today because I would like to just check them out if nothing else. I might hold off on picking anything up until this weekend when i'll visit both the larger garden center and the hardware store.
